Filly in 2011
After the Senators acquired former 5th overall draft pick Nikita Filatov from the Columbus Blue Jackets for only a 3rd round pick in the 2011 Draft, Blue Jackets writer Aaron Portzline shared a story on Twitter about the Russian forward.
Essentially, the Blue Jackets coaches were trying to get Filatov to crash the net and get rebounds. Instead of taking the advice, Filatov simply told them that "Filly don't do rebounds".
Filatov would only add one assist in 9 games with the Senators before leaving to the KHL instead of reporting to Binghamton.
